Camille Friason, RM, CPM - Owner & Primary Midwife

I am a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Registered Midwife (RM) offering midwifery services, including home birth, in the state of Colorado. My CPR and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications are current at all times.

My Journey

I was first exposed to the world of birthing at the age of 9 when I attended the birth of my younger brother. Witnessing my mother's strength and my brother's transition from the womb to the world ignited a passion for becoming involved in birth work. Twenty years later, I embarked on my midwifery journey, driven by a commitment to support, educate, and empower women and their families to achieve the pregnancy and birth experience they desire.

I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Vassar College in 2009 and didn't stumble upon midwifery until 2015. I pursued my didactic studies at Bastyr University and completed two rotations over 2.5 years at birth centers in Seattle, WA, and Boise, ID. In Seattle, I had the opportunity to work with an ND/LM at Sprout Birth Center, where I learned about pre-conception care, well baby care up to 24 months, and assisted with tongue tie revisions. The majority of my hands-on training took place at Treasure Valley Midwives in Boise, a high-volume group practice of LMs and CNMs providing home birth and birth center options. I was able to learn full spectrum care and lead Centering Pregnancy, group prenatal care.

In 2021, I passed the NARM, officially becoming a Certified Professional Midwife and a Licensed Midwife in Idaho. I completed a 6-month fellowship at TVM, gaining invaluable experience in managing birth complications and serving as a preceptor for student midwives. Eager to return to the essence of midwifery and focus on nurturing relationships with families, I relocated to the Front Range. As a Registered Midwife in Colorado, I have had the honor of providing midwifery services to families in their homes and at a birth center for the past several years.

I believe birth is just one part of the beautiful journey to parenthood. Ensuring that the birthing person feels safe, respected, and cared for can create a lasting impact that shapes the future of that child and family. I am passionate about autonomy, family-centered care, and making midwifery care accessible to Black and Indigenous families of color. I have a strong desire to serve neurodivergent families and those that have or may be experiencing perinatal mood issues.

River Mizell, Student Midwife

Meet River

River is a student midwife apprenticing under Camille while earning a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery through Mercy in Action College of Midwifery.

A certified birth and postpartum doula since 2020, River has supported families across a wide range of birth experiences.

River's professional background includes community building, biology, and marine science, including work as a scuba professional and educator. With graduate training in biology and conservation education, River brings a deep respect for physiology, ecosystems, and the interconnectedness of human and environmental health to midwifery care.

River is a parent to two boys in elementary school and has lived on three continents, with extensive travel around the world. These experiences inform a grounded, culturally responsive approach to care.

River is a first year student midwife at Mercy in Action College of Midwifery. Their CPR and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications are current at all times.

Rebekah Ralph, RM, CPM - Assistant Midwife

Rebekah is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Registered Midwife (RM) in the state of Colorado.

Her CPR and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications are current at all times.

Meet Bekah

Rebekah has trained and worked alongside Camille since 2024 and became a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Registered Midwife (RM) in the state of Colorado in 2026.

She has attended over 100 births and will be graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BSM) in May of 2026 from Mercy in Action College of Midwifery. Rebekah completed her midwifery rotations in Colorado Springs and Northern Colorado, serving families in home and birth center settings.

Rebekah chose to become a midwife after the privilege of witnessing her cousin be born at home many years ago. She believes that the way babies come into this world matters. She deeply respects the sanctity of birth and is committed to hold space in the birth room and beyond -- for women and their babies to work together to come forth and be changed for the better through the process.

Becky Searles, RM, CPM - Assistant Midwife

Meet Becky

Becky became a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Registered Midwife (RM) in Colorado in early 2023 and has worked alongside Camille since late 2023.

Becky has been a birth worker for over 20 years! She began attending births in all settings (home, hospital, birth center) as a labor doula. She eventually became a Nurse and then a Midwife, graduating from the National Midwifery institute in 2022.

She has worked in private home birth, group midwifery, and birth center practices in Illinois and Colorado since 2019.

She has also completed additional training in breastfeeding support and is working on her clinical hours in order to sit for the International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) exam.

Becky is passionate about supporting families on their journeys to welcoming a new life into the world. Her own nine births -- including hospital birth, home birth, cesarean sections, VBAC, and premature birth -- inform her empathetic approach to each unique pregnancy.

When not attending births, Becky loves spending time with her husband Ryan, of almost 30 years, her children, outdoors during all seasons in beautiful Colorado, reading, knitting, and working on a good puzzle.

Becky is a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM) and Registered Midwife (RM) in the state of Colorado.

Her CPR and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications are current at all times.

Who Is Your Team?

Primary midwife

As the owner, I (Camille) am your Primary Midwife. I am responsible for  your pregnancy, labor/birth, and postpartum. I am the one to answer emails, review your labs, perform all consultations, attend all prenatal and postpartum visits, and manage the entirety of your labor and birth.

I have learned over the years that group care (multiple midwives) has its pros and cons. I love working in a team environment, but feel like I can give more personalized care when it is just one provider overseeing everything. I get to really know my families, truly understand their wishes, and have the ability to create deep bonds of trust.

I intentionally keep my volume low, never more than 3 clients a month. This allows me to be present and give you the attention you deserve, while also having a beautiful work-life balance.

student midwife

I take one student at a time and they will have a one year apprenticeship. They will be in the observation, assistant, or primary phase of their education, which will determine how involved they will be in your care.  You should expect to see the student at all your visits with me. Any time the student provides education, advice or hands-on-care, it will be under my direct supervision.

My midwifery career started with and continues to be blessed by amazing mentorship that is truly priceless. I believe students are essential to midwifery and I am dedicated to sharing my knowledge and training/mentoring future midwives. I have been a NARM approved preceptor for Bastyr University, Mercy in Action College of Midwifery, Midwives College of Utah, and National College of Midwifery since 2021 and have mentored over 10 students and beginning midwives.

assistant midwife

I am greatly honored to have trusted midwife colleagues that assist me. An Assistant Midwife comes during your labor, closer to pushing, to provide an additional set of trained and experienced hands once baby is born. I find it vital to have two licensed providers present in case of a birth complication.

An Assistant Midwife will also be available to cover for me if I am sick, on vacation, or attending another birth at the same time. You will meet an Assistant Midwife between 32-36 weeks.
